Our CEO, Donald G. Loria Prendas is an Licenced Architect graduated from the University of Costa Rica, with a Master’s degree in Business Development from the University ICAP, Costa Rica. 

Then obtained a Bachelor Degree Industrial Engineering from Universidad Latina de Costa Rica and Topography Engineering from UACA University.  Also, obtained a Master degree in Quality, Safety & Environmental in Viña del Mar University, in Chile. 

He is a Professional Architect and Engineer register at the Board of Engineers and Architects of Costa Rica, with Licenses Registration # A-9550, II-9550, IT-9550.

He created the company PrendasLoria, Architecture & Engineering in 1999, with focus in residential and commercial touristic projects in Nosara, Guanacaste.

He has designed, elaborated construction drawings and building permits, and inspected the construction of several hotels, sports and yoga retreats:

  • Hotel Olas Verdes, in Nosara.   A sustainable hotel, with LEED Platinum Certification.

  • Hotel Lagarta Lodge, in Nosara.  A sustainable hotel, with CST (Certification of Sustainable Tourism).

  • Coral Jade, a yoga retreat.

  • 506 Hidden Palms Tennis Center.

  • Extension and renovation of Giada hotel in Samara.

He has designed, elaborated construction drawings and building permits, and inspected the construction of several restaurants and commercial-entertainment projects:

  • Fantasia Nicoya Sport store and apartments.

  • Fantasia Santa Cruz Sport store and apartments.

  • Mercadito Nicoyano, communal market of food and souvenirs.

Our CEO, Jose Rodolfo Ortiz, M.S.C.E., PE IC-3150, is a civil engineer graduated from the University of Costa Rica, with a major in Structural Design; and obtained a Master’s degree in Construction Engineering & Management at Purdue University, Indiana, USA.  He is a professional engineer register at the Board of Engineers and Architects of Costa Rica, with License Registration # IC-3150, since 1982.

After graduation, he worked in structural design and construction management in New Orleans, Louisiana, then he returned to his home country, Costa Rica, and performed executive positions as project manager director and general company management (CEO) in well known companies in San Jose.

In 2001, he moved to Guanacaste, and became the Director of the Construction Management team for Constructora EDIFICAR S. A., in charge of the construction of the Hotel Four Seasons Resort, in Peninsula de Papagayo.

After completion of the Four Seasons Hotel, he moved to work with Construction Management Services S. A., a project management organization branch of Ecodesarrollo Papagayo, in charge of all development projects at Peninsula de Papagayo, as Director of Cost Estimating & Cost Control, executing the project management of the following iconic developments in Peninsula de Papagayo:

  • Golf Club House & Tennis Center at Four Seasons, Península de Papagayo

  • Urban development, roads & infrastructure facilities, of the South Península of Papagayo, more than 60 km of roads.

  • Exclusive Resorts in Poro Poro Beach, at Península de Papagayo

  • Las Terrazas Condominums, at Península de Papagayo

  • The Residents Club House at Prieta Beach, Península de Papagayo.

  • The Beach Club at Nacascolo Beach

  • La Marina de Papagayo & Marina Village, at Península de Papagayo.

In 2006 Mr. Ortiz started his own project management firm, LCP International S. A., located in Playas del Coco, Guanacaste, and lead the design and construction team for the following projects, among others:

  • Coco Bay Estates Residential Lots, at Playas del Coco, a residential urban development with 113 lots, and 65 hectares, which included roads and all utilities infrastructure.

  • Segovia Heights Residential Condominiums Towers, at Coco Bay Estates, in Playas del Coco, with 8 condominium towers, and 53 residential units.

  • Ria Lora Residential and Touristic Condominium Master Plan & Urban Development Design, at Playa Puerto Viejo, a residential and hotel development, with 43 hectares.

  • The Tennis & Fitness Club at Coco Bay Estates, Playas del Coco.

  • The Ocotal Beach Club at Coco Bay Estates, Playa Ocotal.

In the middle of the 2010, Mr. Ortiz created a branch company to expand the services provided, specialized in land planning, master planning, and urban development infrastructure design:  Papagayo Design Center S. A., also located in Playas del Coco, Guanacaste, firm that developed among other projects, the following designs and construction drawings for resort residential and touristic projects in Guanacaste:

  • La Punta de Papagayo residential and touristic Condominium development, located at the Polo Turístico de Papagayo, near Playa Panama, performing the design of the Master Plan and urban development infrastructure design and construction drawings, that included a 102 room hotel, 87 residential condominium units, and 24 estate lots.

  • El Diamante Touristic & Residential Condominium, located in Playa Matapalo, developing 3 different master plans, one of which is a mix of an eco-adventure park and animal sanctuary, with residential lots, and 3 hotel parcels, a property with 281 hectares.

  • La Montana Residential Condominiums, located in Playas del Coco, a 170 residential lots development, a property with 130 hectares, developing the master plan and urban infrastructure design and construction drawings (roads and utilities).

  • Hotel by the Liberia International Airport, master plan and schematic design of an 80 extended stay suite’s hotel, rent a car, two franchise restaurants, and commercial space, near the Liberia International Airport.

  • Hotel Residence Inn by Marriott at Playa Flamingo, Project management for the design and construction drawing development team for the Hotel Residence Inn by Marriott at Playa Flamingo, then transformed into an Autograph Collection hotel by Marriott International Hotels, located in Playa Flamingo, with 122 extended stay suites, and 16 residential lots.    Includes the building permit approvals and the construction company contracting, and all required approvals and design reviews by Marriott International, LATAM offices, and LEED Silver Certification.

  • Mar Serena Residential and Touristic Condominium, located at Playa Zapotillal and Nombre de Jesus, in Cabo Velas, Santa Cruz, elaborating a site analysis report, and creating a land development plan and master plan for a 272 hectares property, which includes the master plan of 4 beach hotel resorts, a Residents Sport Club, two Residents Beach Clubs, and an Equestrian Club, several restaurants and bars, 310 residential condominium units, and 250 single family lots.

  • Several luxury residences in the area of Playas del Coco, Playa Ocotal, and Peninsula de Papagayo.

  • Kalia Eco-Luxury Living, Project Management & Engineering at Smart Signature Design & Construction, located between Playa Marbella and Playa Nosara, developing 28 luxury modern single family residences.
